We go way back

As far back as 2009, our parent group N21 offered our paid marketing services as part of its repertoire. However, until 2020, we were simply a key team in a full-service marketing agency.

That’s when N21 CEO, Neil Robbins, took a step back to look at the astounding success of the paid team (us!), with our dedication and passion to clients and work. Neil decided that we had a better chance of realising our vision and potential if we split from the full-service agency and formed our own, specialist offering, The result? The birth of Ortus: – a specialist, boutique agency with a laser-focus on paid marketing.

Associate Director

Sarah

Sarah heads the show and is firmly in the driving seat of the strategic direction for Ortus. With over nine years of paid marketing experience, she has led on a tonne of successful campaigns including PPC management for Clarks across all major European markets, where she broke records for their biggest Back to School period ever, twice! Her main focus is driving the team to go above and beyond to consistently over deliver on performance results, which has earned her some not too shabby industry award recognition including ‘Digital Strategy of the Year’ at The Drum Awards.

Outside of the agency you’ll find her running her home decor Instagram account, pooch sitting, travelling or working out (in that order of likeliness!)

Senior Paid Marketing Manager

Jess

Jess manages our paid team and oversees all our clients’ paid strategies to make sure they’re expertly crafted to deliver seriously unignorable results. She’s ridiculously talented with account efficiency and providing a seamless experience for our clients, and supports her team to flourish in their individual areas of strength and passion.

She’s bang into a cheeseboard so you can be sure to find her in her local with a bottle of wine and her galpals (if not out exploring with her fur baby Maggie).

Paid Marketing Manager

Chris

During his 7 years in paid marketing, across both agency and in-house roles, Chris has established himself as the go-to guy for all things technical in paid. He’s a stickler for detail and enjoys getting under the bonnet of accounts, working on tracking and scripts, as well as auditing an account from top to bottom.

In a former life you’d have found him on a golf course in his spare time, however he’s currently busy embodying Nick Knowles as he renovates his house!

Paid Marketing Manager

Carl

Carl joined Ortus from a London based agency where he worked in both their paid and display activation teams. He recently made the decision to relocate back to his roots in the good old North East, and brings with him a wealth of knowledge having delivered campaigns for some epic brands including Estée Lauder, Nissan and Specsavers. His keen eye for data and natural flair with numbers make him bloody brilliant at ensuring our clients get the most efficiency out of their accounts.

Outside of work, you’ll find Carl either covered in mud in the middle of a rugby field or standing on the side-lines coaching!

Paid Social Manager

Amy

As Paid Social Manager, Amy’s laser focused on the Facebook and Instagram ad campaigns of our clients, and also joined us from the Big Smoke, where she specialised in paid social for the charity sector, working with Alzheimer’s Society, RNLI, Macmillan, Kidney Research and Barnardo’s. From delving deep and delivering full account audits, to whipping up creative strategies that maximise results, she’s responsible for smashing the day to day running of our client paid social accounts.

Amy’s a dab hand in the kitchen and trying new recipes is her dream downtime (Though she has enough cookbooks to start her own library!).

Marketing Manager

Becky

Bec’s our brand guardian, so rather than working on our client accounts like the rest of the team, she’s busy making sure everything that comes from the Ortus brand is sh*t hot, killer creative and authentically ‘us’. From launch campaigns, to social media management and events production, brand marketing is her thing, and she’s got over 6 years experience in making agencies in the digital industry stand out from the rest.

She’s recently swapped bottomless brunching for paddleboarding so away from the office you’ll find her at the Lake District!
